The Paladin's Sword Game Module is meant for intermediate level players. This game gives players the chance to experience higher levels and to see how important character traits are, such as the paladin's code. Characters in this game should really be played out. Try to give them personality and depth.
Although designed for intermediate players, this game could be good for beginners as well. It gives them a taste of the new politics in the Age of New Beginnings as the WOV are corrupt and some are beginning to fight against this. Novice players will also enjoy playing higher level characters, spells and abilities found in this game.
After the game there is time to research spells and take a break, but don't rest too long! This story line with Ranthar is far from over. You can expect other missions from him to be handed down in future game modules. If you like this story line and where it's going, you can modify it and make it a lower level game and then start a whole campaign with this adventure. There is a campaign officially in the works based on this tenatively called "The Sands of Time." Check the WOV News often to see its debut.
Some Quick Tips
- Make sure to have your enemy stats right at hand
- Play up the pressure to choose between the WOV and Ranthar with the Paladin
- Make sure the Paladin follows his code
- Use the NPC's or make up your own. The party will probably need a guide and being able to give hints through an NPC is a valuable tool.
